Corallium @ Kuching

The reason i started this place is BCOZ i get 50% for first visit with this "WOW card, wakaka, cheapskate. This cafe is rather easy to find, located in the heart of kuching - leboh wayang, just opposite the "STAR cineplex" medan pelita, exactly rite in front of the "wayang street chinese temple - 凤山寺". Easiest way is to get into carpenter street and park your car at the end of the street and the cafe is just on your left. The corallium cafe is a THEMED restaurant whereby it is inspired by corals, has an oceanic and tranquil ambience, with additional decorative items like seashells and corals, giving a kinda uncerwater feel.

Simple menu.

This cafe serves western food like steak, spaghetti, salads, soup and snack. The specialty of this cafe is actually chocolate fondue which is like a hotpot that you can dip the infredients (you'll be getting fruits like banana, star fruits; marshmallow, cookie stick, few scoops of vanilla ice-cream) with hot chocolate. The cafe consists of 3 sections, front & back seperated by its small bar in the middle; 3rd section would be the 2nd floor (they close most of the time).

This is the front compartment.

This is the mini bar in between the front & back sections

Beverages wise, they have a variety of coffee, tea, ice blended mocktails, juices, smoothies, SODA, hot drinks. It has free WiFi, board games, cards, plenty of OLD mags for you to browse through while waiting for your meals to be served (which will take u ages! seriously). I've been there twice, hmm, i took about 30 mins ++ for 2 steak, SLO CHEF ei! Overall their steaks are not refined, well, i would recommend fish n chip, salmon steak (CAREFUL with tat, fish BONE++), the rest just so-so, steaks ranges from MYR 12.9-17.9, Spaghetti ranges from MYR 8.9-10.9, give it a try on chocolate fondue, about MYR 10.9-14.9.

Fish 'N' chiP, MYR 12.90

This is Salmon steak with wedges, MYR 17.90

Ordinary orange juice MYR 8.9, with a wacky double handed green stick for stirring

When a MELAKA boy eats KUCHING food!

Gosh, i spent 1 hour to search for my own blog, its was almost 95% been forgotten, i read thru the blog and was surprise to find that the last post was Aug 2009, its 2 years ago, MAN! IRON MAN! cant even believe that.... that was the last post before i got sent to kuching to work, 2 years, "SNAP" just like that, now, the director of hospital insisted me to stay another 2 years, pretty shitty man, 2 yrs followed by another 2 yrs, when will it end.... i must admit that it's a damn good training, maximum hands-on, i've meet great boss, crazy boss, robot HO, GODlike HO, legendary HO (BYJ), Indian Inc HO, junior HOs. It was never a blank page everyday. I've eaten kuching food at every single corner with sutenn for the past 2 years, we drive, we walk, as long we get to try NEW menu, it was one of my only few activities in kuching as she never likes mothernature -_- ... since i'm stuck here, i might as well talk about the food here, afterall i've 2 years experience of "makang makang" in sarawak.

Alrite, kuching food is rite on ur way, LET's roll!

S a Melaka boy, i will not hesitate to introduce nyonya food. Even my penang fren would bring his whole family & travel to melaka just to try out nyonya fud (but he went to the expensive ones! boloh). First of all, i will need to help u locate this place, its in near-end of jln merdeka (roundabout), opposite beauty centre terimee and few shops away from another expensive nyonya restaurant "MAKON".

Just simple design. Clean

My dajiefu - ah mou ge first brought me to here wen i went to find him for official documentation. Initially, i tot its kind of buddhist religion place, & sumore its called JETAWAY (sounds like tze chi). i was then told about nyonya fud. U can get authentic nyonya style fud here with affordable price, from kuih to misiam to curry to laksa to cendol. They even have durian cendol (its cendol + a scoop of pure durian without the seed), the lady boss recommended tis to me, she said :"ei, durian cendoi LAAGI nice ar, i wan or not, u scare of durian izit? aiyo....", either way, i said NO to durian, i told i would like to try original cendol first. #PS TIPS u can have the choice to have it serve together with ur meal or after ur meal. Thgs tat u shld try include mee curry, misiam, laksa, cendol & nyonya kuih. According to ah mou ge, it is one of singaporean's favourite spot, who knws u get to c mediacorp's "Lu Jiang". If u r interested in history of melaka, luk for tis 90 yr old chap, Mr Chan who speaks excellent english. He will tell u nyonya story, Tun Tan cheng lock's history (1 of the 4 big melaka nyonya family in those days), changes in melaka n those days when he worked for japs.

Nando's @ chinatown

I was brided. They gave me free fud, i feel like its bcome a duty to write sumthg bout them, haha. Nando's is celebrating 11th BIRD-day in Malaysia, rewarding customers with the gift of really really good chicken! No difficulty findind chinatown Nando's, just take star lrt to plaza rakyat station & walk along the walkway (straight) till u c a hotel and Nando's on ur left (about 7 mins walk frm the lrt exit).

What do they sell, of course, it's all bout the chicken business. the grilled in afro-portuguese style! Nando's is known for its peri-peri chicken which believed to cause addiction (just like nasi kandar, peri-peri contains substance that stimulate ur brain to release endorphin in ur reward pathway, making u "gian" and "ketagih", haha psychological dependence eh!). #point of learning: endorphin is a kind of happy hormone in such that wen it's release, u brain feels good and will mark it as pleasant moment deep down into ur brain pathway known as reward pathway, n u will experience the psychologically craving for the pleasant moment once a while, it is unlike those physical dependence that u've seen in heroin addicts. Other kind of psychological dependence is nasi kandar which contains mild cannobitol (ganja) substance. Peri-peri chicken is carefully prepared (extra fat trim) & selected, thoroughly marinated in Nando's traditional peri-peri flavours so that the taste absorb rite into the bone. and flame-grilled to perfection, while Nando's serves 1/4, 1/2 & full chicken, u can choose ur own "peri" index (depending on hw spicy u can take it). A must to try their completely basting vegetarian sauce! Nando's also serves other stuffs like soup, sausages, chips and salads which are worth trying.

a heavy rain (5/8/09, 11:49am) caught in the walkway outside Nando's, n i saw tis offer, started from 12pm-1pm. Obviously i was the accidental early birds.

The cave @ SS2

Well, i have no problem finding this place, after all, its the familiar "SS2" where u get to have lotsa lotsa fud thr. First, u nid to LDP, then kip to your left after putra LRT universiti station n folo jln universiti till u come to roundabout (u shld c sinchew), take 3 o clock to jln bahagia, next just folo these figures 19/8-->2/24-->2/75-->2/60 n u will find the cave near to McD.

The cave is another themed restaurant for couples. the whole restaurant is a rocky yellow cave and partitioned into many many mini caves. It is exactly like gasoline restaurant that u c in city, u will be brought to the "mini cave" with a black "see-through" curtain that seperates u from the walkway outside. Basically, it is the expensive version of gasoline. U will have to pay more for the ROCKs and the privacy that u r gonna have.

"The Gua"

Black menu & dinner set "MYR46.00 nett" (3 course meal)

"LOVE is IT"? love is eat!

chic n pine salad + creamy brocolli soup + ROTI KOG

Poached asparagus fish rolled with prawn sauce.

this 1 like macau's "yi shun niu nai". Thumbs up!

It is a perfect place for couple. for guys, make sure u stuff up your pocket with $$ or credit cards. Despite being turkey designed restaurant, i was hoping for roti kebab, haha, instead, The cave serves authentic western and japanese delights which are F*kin pricy, not to mention their red wine @_@ !! (applies to government officaer like me, haha). Wat i suggest is u can take sum light meals or share the dinner set, & if u still feel hungry, never mind, just drop by the SS2 hawker centre (melambak nye!!). This place is for u to enjoy & chill out, not for u to "makan kenyang kenyang ye". U will spend ur romantic meal with ur other 1/2 in a mini cave, a curtain seperates u two frm the outside world. the cave plays soothing songs and u can even bring ur laptop (free WiFi). The fud there are so so, not worth the $$, but i personally thk that the cave's desserts are not bad. Otherwise, their services are excellent, i'm satisfied with it, u can call them anytime by just using the small gadget ( i thk i've seen it in midvalley's da tong and time sq's gasoline) on the wall. It says "BILL, CALL, WATER". N the waiter will reach u shortly. well, i did have a wonderful dinner wt my gf, perhaps my last dinner in PJ before i fly to sarawak to work. #PS be sure to ask for a flyer from the receptionist before u proceed to mini cave. (it gives 10% discount for ala-carte). o ya, 1 more thg, be careful when u wlk upstairs, i hit the rocky wall, damn, it really hurts & the the rocks in the cave are REAL, they r not spongebob OK!!

this is the small gadget

thr's a rocky shelf on top of that small gadget for 2 take foto urself (i guess so)

Price: average MYR 30-60 per person.
HALAL: no pork!
Toilet: YES, they do. 1 washroom (sitting type) in 2nd floor. Not sure bout 3rd floor. VRY clean & a vry big mirror infront of toilet bowl. toilet paper supplied.

Hmm, not to let tat happen again, i've figure out my own map. just folo LDP till u see GUINESS STOUT beer factory on your left and a WHITE PENANG bridge (NKVE) in front of u, get up to the bridge and turn right (with an awkward zig-zag road ahead), go straight and eventually u will come to tis map's arrow.

fullhouse is a themed restaurants in which d idea was adopted from the popular corean drama fullhouse (浪漫满屋 - rain & 宋慧乔), the whole restaurant is painted in white with super kawaii menu and astonishing deco. you can simply choose any part of the house to enjoy ur meal, including the home garden, living room, and upstairs, balcony. it is a perfect place for valentine's, gathering, a place to hang out after dinner wt frens or family. feel free to walk around the eye-soothing house to take fotos while waiting ur meal to be served. fullhouse offers fusion delights which is still acceptable though not much of variety. kitchen last call is 1030pm if i'm not mistaken. so, NOT to expect vry yummy fud in this restaurant k. apart frm that, thr is also corner for fullhouse merchandise (clothes, accessories, bags, hats, clock, weird gadgets, umbrella, teddy bear etc), quite PRICY!

the most striking shop in NZX street!
